About us

After graduating as a BA in Sport Science from the University of Idaho & Universidad del Salvador (Argentina), Juan continued his studies with a MSc in Sport Science and Coaching in UCLA. Furthermore, he completed a Post Graduate in Education at the Buckingham University in the UK and he is currently going through the application process for his professional PhD at the Leeds Beckett University.

His brief rugby playing career include representing Argentina Schools’ at U16 & U18 level and playing Variety Rugby for the University of Idaho and the University of California.

After working as a Head of Boys’ Games in Argentina, Juan emigrated to New Zealand to work at Hamilton Boys High School where he taught Spanish and coached rugby. He also worked for the Waikato RU in their talent ID pathway. His teaching career continued at Sedbergh School in the north of England where he undertook a number of roles finalising as Director of Sport. During this time he began working for Newcastle Falcons within the Player Development Pathway and consequently was deployed at the Rugby Football Union coaching the National U16 pathway. Following a year at Stamford School as Head of Sport, Juan moved to Leicester Tigers full time as Community Manager.

In 2016 Juan founded Sudamerica Coaching, creating links in 12 countries in over 60 organisations including Schools, Clubs, Universities, Regional Unions and National Federations. 

Juan is currently coaching at the Development Player Pathway at Northampton Saints, is a Divisional Coach for the Scotland Qualified Programme, works as a Coach Developer for the RFU and is a World Rugby Mentor.
