Testimonials

"When our son Diego told us that he had taken the decision of studying abroad the first thing we felt as parents was anguish and bewilderment. While this was an idea that Diego had mentioned to us before, this was the first time that he was serious about it and had a formulated plan. He wanted to spend his final 2 years in an English school and he also wanted to go to a school where he could continue to develop his great passion for rugby.

All of a sudden, we were faced with a difficult situation as a family, with many unknowns,  fears and without knowing where to start exploring a safe path. One thing that was clear at the time, was that Diego was totally convinced and we thought it was an extraordinary opportunity to give to our son; an experience that would mark him for the rest of his life.

I had the opportunity to meet Juan Gonzalez Mendia 2 years earlier in a very interesting and surprising workshop he conducted in Chile for young athletes' parents. Instead of listening to someone who focused solely and exclusively on achieving sporting performance, I was listening to a someone speaking about the integral development of our children as human beings. I remember the book he recommended: Changing the Game from John O'Sullivan, which helped me loads in supporting my son with his future vision.

I called Juan and asked him for advice on how to move safely on an adventure as delicate as sending my 16-year-old son to study on the other side of the world. After various conversations about or son's future and his expectations, his intellectual, social and sports development, we came to terms with this intuition becoming a reality. We convinced ourselves that this experience would be for Diego a unique development and growth opportunity. He would have to come out of his comfort zone, generate new relationships, get to know different cultures, improve his English, become self-sufficient and he would also play rugby at a much higher level than usual.

Juan recommended Sedbergh School. Coincidently, that was first on Diego's list of researched schools online. From now on everything flowed in a very reassuring way for us and we made all the enrolment process, interviews, academic examinations and forms without any problems.

We were fortune to travel a week before Diego began his school year, allowing us to visit the school, the boarding house where he would live and meeting his Housemaster, Headmaster, Tutors, Teachers and Matron. This, combined with the fact that Juan is Diego's Guardian in England for the next 2 years, made us return home extremely reassured and with the tranquility that our son is in a magnificent and very safe place surrounded by people who genuinely care about his development and well-being. "
